workshop description
This session explores terms around liberation, from decolonisation to whiteness. It outlines the different types of racism, both systemic and individual, as well as the effect this has on the mental health of students of colour with reference to racial trauma.
There is also consideration of the importance of cultural competency and decolonised support in supporting the mental health of students of colour. Finally, attendees will be given the opportunity to consider practical steps that can be taken to enact meaningful and transformative change.
how many attendees?
We recommend no more than 30 people per session if you would like there to be interaction and discussion within the workshop. However, if you would prefer for it to be more lecture-style, then there is no limit to how many people we can present to.
